The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway is on our doorstep. The famous Snowdon Mountain Railway, the easiest way to reach the summit of Snowdon, is also a short drive away.

There are many slate mines in Snowdonia giving a fascinating insight into an industry that is very much at the heart of this area. Llechwedd Slate Caverns and the smaller Llanfair slate caverns, which also have a children’s animal farm, are both a short drive away. Also worth a visit are the National Slate Museum near Caernarfon and the famous Sygun Copper Mine, near the beautiful village of Beddgelert with its tragic legend of Prince Llewellyn and Gelert, the hound.
